About Eli Brook Labrador Retrievers

The story does start with Eli, named after the brook that runs through our farm. We bought Eli 30 years ago not knowing the path that one yellow dog would take us down. He was our heart beat and every dog that we have owned since Eli has had some big shoes to try and fill. We believe that if our goal is anything other than bettering the Labrador Breed, we should not be doing this.

My name is Gail Mosher and I have had the priviledge of living with English Labrador Retrievers for the last 30 years. My Labradors have proven to be some of the best friends in the world and shaped my life in many ways. I live on a 70 acre, non opperational, farm in upstate NY with my husband.

We have three adults daughters and three amazing son in laws. Our children have been so important in this adventure. Our oldest daughter, Heather, carried her passion on to become a Veterinarian. Our middle daughter, Lynne, is a professional photographer, for which many puppies and dogs have sat patiently to have its picture taken. Our youngest daughter Kristin is the most interested in the breeding aspect of the labradors, she helps me pick the best puppies to keep and the new lines to bring in to our breeding program. She has also expanded to her own kennel, Skyline Hill Labradors.

Our grandchildren have taken over the role of puppy snuggling and even help me deliver puppies.

One of my main concerns for a puppy when it leaves here is weight. English Labradors tend to be stocky by nature. Add to that equation, adoring family members and we can have over feeding and eventually obesity. An over weight puppy and dog are more prone to joint disorders, diabities, and overall poorer health. We recommend the types of dog food that are best for your puppy, how much to feed and what to feed. What we recommend for treats and exercise is also included in my puppy packets. I try to stay updated on current changes in diet.
